A Little Bit of Everything

I know it has been forever since I last blogged.  It has been eating at me that I haven't written, and please know it hasn't been because I haven't had anything to write about.  It's actually been the exact opposite.  I have been having a very hard time finding any 'me' time, which is so very important to keep that balance in life.  Because I have SO much to write about, I'm going to just throw it all out there to give you all a brief idea of our past month or so!
MY JOB-I am putting all of the blame for not blogging on my new job.  I love it, but it has sucked the life out of me, and I'm only half way through the process.  I submitted the whole course outline-5 units with 30 total lessons-into my project manager last week.  RELIEF!!  I should be getting the course back with suggestions.  I have until next Tuesday to revise the unit.  Fingers crossed they don't tear it apart.  I then get a little break.  In November, it's back to work on assessments for the course.  That will take me through November.  Then, I AM DONE!

CARTER-He had his first day of preschool today!  He LOVED it!  He's going to our local church's preschool 2 mornings a week.  His teacher said that Carter kept asking for more snack during snack time!  Is anyone surprised?  I am excited to get involved with the church and meet some more people from the area.  If all goes as planned, Carter will stay at this preschool for the next 3 years until he is ready to head off to kindergarten.  Also, Grady will automatically get in since Carter will still be there when it's time for Grady to go.  Crazy to think that in 2 years, I will be dropping off both kids.  Only 2 more years until I get a couple hours each week back to myself!!!!

Jason and I find ourselves laughing at Carter and his crazy sayings or actions every day.  He just doesn't stop talking.  We will be in the car for hours, and he DOES NOT STOP TALKING.  He will repeat something 25 times if we don't acknowledge him.  If you don't believe me, watch the video!

We go from wanting to pull our hair out to laughing so hard we have tears in our eyes all in a matter of minutes.  As my dad said, "Carter is spirited." That's for sure!  But I will say, he gives the best slobbery kisses!

GRADY-Ahh, our golden child!!  Grady is going to have to work real hard to stand out next to his big brother.  Grady just goes with the flow.  I am savoring every moment of him being a baby.  I know how fast it goes, and I am just so lucky to have another happy and healthy baby boy.  Grady just turned 4 months on September 1.  He is sleeping 11-12 hours most nights but are still working on getting into more of a daytime schedule.  My friend Callie suggested Moms On Call.  It's AWESOME!  If you have kids or are about to have kids, it's a great resource.  They have online seminars for newborns and toddlers.  Go and check them out!  Our recent challenge with Grady is to get him to take a bottle.  We have tried almost every trick in the book. He just won't take one. Any suggestions for me?  I really want to stop nursing by the end of the month.  At this rate, Grady is going to be attached to me FOREVER!!  Please leave a comment if you have any tips that I can try.  We are open to anything.

OUR LATEST ADVENTURES-Several weeks ago, we went up to the Poconos for The Webb Family Reunion.  It was a great weekend meeting new family members that I knew existed, but had never met and also catching up with family members who we just haven't seen in a while.  We were able to introduce Grady to everyone, and the highlight of Carter's weekend was catching his very first fish.  Jason was a proud daddy!  Like father, like son!!

We just got back from a long weekend in Pittsburgh.  What a great trip.  We stayed with our friends Ryann and Ron, who are expecting their first baby in December!!  While in the Burgh, Carter and Grady got to experience their first PITT game. I expected the worst, but was amazed how well everything went.  Carter had the best time! He loved the band, the 'kitty cat' AKA Roc the Panther, the huge jumbotron TV and everything football.  For those of you not familiar with Pitt, the football games are at the Steeler Stadium, so it's HUGE.  We stayed until the end of the 3rd quarter, and that was us telling Carter it was time to go home.  Of course I had several emotional moments at the game.  Being in the stands with my two children was a special memory I will never forget.  Also, nursing Grady in the stands will be a memory I will never forget as well!!!!  How times have changed!  I am looking forward to heading back to Pittsburgh for Homecoming and a Tri-Delta Reunion.  I also got to see my college BFFs Sara and Chrissy!  Sara is getting married in 3 weeks out in Vail, which we are not able to go to :( Even though we won't be there in person, I will be thinking about her and Mike the whole weekend! We even talked about us Skyping so I can see/hear the ceremony.  Has anyone ever done something like that? I would love suggestions or ideas.

Finally, to close out summer, we are headed to Stone Harbor on Saturday for a week vacation!  SO EXCITED!  We are going with Jason's dad with a visit from my mom, Jason's grandparents, and our friends Dan and Lorie and their little guy Dean.  We are all looking forward to some beach time as well as good family time!!

Well, that sums up what we have been up to. I hope everyone has had a good summer and is now looking forward to the fall and some Eagle's Football!! I will be sure to post pictures from our beach vacation and let you all know how Grady's 4 month dr appt goes, which is on the Monday after we return from the beach.

Please be sure to comment on any suggestions you might have on how to get Grady to take a bottle!!  I'm desperate here people!
