So after spending a week at the beach, I am putting down 'owning a shore house' on our family bucket list. What a great week. My younger years were spent down at Stone Harbor at my stepdad's parents house. I can't even list the number of times my brother and I drove to the shore with my mom in her Oldsmobile stationwagon. You know, the one with wood on the side and back-back seats where you sat backwards and waved at the people driving behind you!! Ahh Woody, how I miss you.
Our beach house was perfect. Walking distance to town, pool, guest house, adorable decor inside, brand new kitchen and baths. I could go on and on. If you are looking into renting a house in Stone Harbor, this house has it all! We used vrbo.com to find the house. It's a great site when looking to vacation somewhere because you deal directly with the homeowner and don't have to pay realtor fees. Check it out!!
Our days consisted of waking before the sun was even up due to Carter being SO EXCITED to go to the beach, AM walks to WAWA for coffee, giving ourselves an extra 30 minutes to get out the door to hit the beach, watching the tractor grate the beach sand, Carter jumping the waves while holding hands with me and J or J and PopPop, Grady taking great naps on the beach in his BOB, playing in the pool before lunch and after naps, Carter barely taking naps because he is SO EXCITED to swim in the pool, Jason taking Carter fishing and catching fish galore (if you missed Carter 'fishing' check out my earlier post), Springer's Ice Cream..YUMMY, Carter getting pet hermit crabs...GROSS, numerous trips to Freds Tavern (another good thing about this house; it was walking distance to Freds), Grady going through a growth spurt mid week which led to sleepless nights for me and J, Uncle Bills Pancake House, great visits with my mom and Jason's grandparents, seafood dinners, Skinnygirl Margaritas, walks on the beach, and just enjoying being away!!
We couldn't have had such a perfect week without the generousity of Jason's dad. Thank you John!!
I took a bunch of pictures, but here are some of my favorites:
